HISTORIANS are hoping to raise money for soldiers wounded in current conflicts by remembering past ones.
Aycliffe Village Local History Society will remember the Second World War in a fundraising event in aid of the Help for Heroes charity.
Vehicles, uniforms and artefacts will be on display.
Organisers say they already have a wealth of photographs and documents including some from the Newton Aycliffe’s Royal Ordnance Factory and the women known as the Aycliffe Angels who worked there. Anyone who would like to contribute more is asked to call 01325-321773.
The event takes place in Aycliffe Village Hall, Aycliffe Village, County Durham, on Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 4pm each day. Food will be available.
