TORY MP Anne McIntosh has survived an attempt to deselect her from the North Yorkshire seat she is to fight at the next general election.
Sources blamed a breakdown in relations with senior constituency officials for tonight's vote.
The current Vale of York MP defeated Ryedale MP John Greenway to win the nomination for the new Thirsk and Malton seat.
The existing seats will disappear in a boundary shake-up at the next general election.
Miss McIntosh has been the Vale of York MP since 1997.
