PEOPLE in Middlesbrough are being given the chance to get into shape as part of a pioneering health campaign.
The ten week programme - new life, new you - aims to make a big difference in peoples lives by encouraging them to take a look at healthier eating and physical activity.
The twice weekly informal sessions are being held in local venues and are open to men and women aged between 45 - 65 years old.
The project adapts its programme around the individuals taking part as they get the opportunity to choose what activities are covered during the sessions.
The current members have tried Pilates, tennis, aqua fit, badminton, dancing, walking, circuit training and roller skating.
Jenny Archer, from Middlesbrough Council, said: "This project has been an ideal way to break down a number of barriers, especially quashing the myth that exercise is just for Lycra wearing ultra fit people. Its for everyone."
