CYCLISTS are being invited to protect their property at an event taking place later this month.
Chester-le-Street Neighbourhood Police team has joined forces with Waldridge Parish Council to stage a Bicycle ID Day on Saturday, July 18.
The event has been organised following a number of reports of bikes being stolen in the area and police officers will be on hand to put security markings on any cycles brought along on the day.
Cyclists can come along to the Millennium Green, off Barford Drive, in Waldridge Village at 12.30pm or the Parish Rooms, in Poplar Street at 2pm.
