A BRAVE two-year-old who lost both legs to meningitis accompanied his parents down the aisle as the couple wed yesterday.
Jill Graham was forced to postpone her marriage to Wayne Jones just a week before their big day last summer when son Robbie was taken seriously ill.
He spent the next seven weeks in hospital with his parents, from Bowburn, County Durham, keeping a 24 hour vigil at his bedside.
He had to have both legs amputated, the right above the knee and the left just below. He also lost finger ends.
But yesterday Robbie showed everyone he had battled back to fulfil his role as page boy at Old Elvet Methodist Church in Durham City - with his new prosthetic legs.
Wayne, 36, said: "It was an amazing day for all of us.
"He fought to stay with us. Today was lovely but it was very emotional.
"Robbie is over the moon to be walking again. Next week it will be exactly a year since the meningitis and our lives were turned upside down."
Jill, 28, added: "We wanted to wait until Robbie could walk again so he could take us down the aisle. We are so proud of him."
