A 35-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested after a pedestrian was struck by a taxi in Grangetown, Middlesbrough, in the early hours of today.

A spokesman for Cleveland Police said that a 46-year-old man was hit by a Skoda taxi in Leighton Road, near its junction with Birchington Avenue, at 12.45am.

The pedestrian, who was taken to hospital, suffered serious leg injuries.
