A LORRY driver was seriously injured after his 19 tonne HGV carrying five tonnes of tarmac overturned on a roundabout on the outskirts of York at 8.15am this morning.
Firefighters used cutting equipment to free the man, who was trapped in the cab, before he was taken to hospital suffering from severe injuries to his head and arms and a broken leg.
The accident took place on Great North Way on York Business Park. Fire crews stood down at 9.49am.
