THE weather will not be the only thing that is summery at the weekend after a community radio station secured an interview with an original member of The Beach Boys.
Radio Teesdales station manager Peter Dixon spoke to Al Jardine about his new album, due to be released later this year.
The interview was done over the phone as Mr Jardine currently lives in California.
The Beach Boys were one of the biggest bands of the sixties with hits like Good Vibrations, God Only Knows and Surfin USA.
"It was a really interesting interview and we ended up talking for about 50 minutes," said Mr Dixon.
"As far as I know we are the first people to talk to Al Jardine about his new album in this country."
Mr Dixon said he is expecting the interview, which will be aired on Saturday (July 4) at 6pm, to attract an audience from both inside and outside Teesdale.
"A lot of The Beach Boys fan sites on the internet have mentioned the interview so I think a lot of fans will be listening online," said Mr Dixon.
Radio Teesdale broadcasts on 102.1FM and 105.5FM in the Teesdale area and at radioteesdale.co.uk.
