STAFF at a bookmaker’s have helped to raise over £700 for charity.
A fund-raising evening, organised by members of staff at the Coral branch in Stanley, was held in the Empire pub, in Front Street, Stanley on Wednesday, June 10.
Money was raised for Sue Ryder Care, which provides care to those living with serious long-term medical conditions.
Fiona Chilton, a fund-raiser for Sue Ryder Care, was grateful for the efforts made. "They are holding some wonderful fundraising events," she said.
Katie Seager-Smith, of Stanley’s Coral shop, thanked local businesses for donating prizes for the quiz, bingo and raffle.
Coral shops across the region have similar plans. The Annfield Plain branch raised £400 in May while those at Bishop Auckland and Chester-le-Street will hold events in July.
