A MOTORCYCLIST riding a vintage bike died after a collision with a car tonight.
The man, from Northallerton, North Yorkshire, was riding the black bike on the A167 towards Topcliffe when the accident happened at 7.30pm.
He collided with blue Vauxhall Zafira travelling in the opposite direction around a quarter of a mile from Busby Stoop, near Thirsk.
The driver of the Zafira, a local woman, was taken to the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton with slight injuries.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police closed the road for more than four hours while they investigated the crash.
Witnesses to the collision, or anyone who saw either vehicle immediately before is asked to call traffic constable Des Mooney on 0845-6060247.
