ORGANISERS are looking for teams to join Northallerton Carnival’s first trolley push challenge, to raise money for charity.

The trolley dash, which is being organised by the Thirsk and Northallerton Lions, has been organised to replace the tractor pull to allow a more diverse range of teams to enter.

The trolleys are old hospital beds that will have mattress put on top for comfort.

Teams must be made up of five people – four to push the trolley and one to sit on the bed, and all should be in fancy dress.

There is a £100 prize for the winning team and a competition for the best dressed team.

Entry to the competition is free but teams are encouraged to raise sponsorship for the charities of the carnival, the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund, Breathing Space and Workcraft, from Northallerton.

The trolley dash starts at 1.30pm, on Sunday, July 12, on the High Street.

Teams can turn up on the day but can register by calling Peter Cole on 01609-778690.
