PUPILS at a North Yorkshire school are spending a whole week trying a diverse range of sports to stay fit and healthy and learn new skills.
Staff and students from Kirkby and Great Broughton CE Primary School are trying new sports that they might not otherwise get the chance to try as part of National Sports Week, which started on Monday.
Among the activities on offer at the school, in Kirkby-in-Cleveland, are archery, martial arts, cricket and orienteering, with the week ending with a traditional sports day on Friday.
Headteacher Celia Curry said: "The children have been very excited in the run up to this week and the event is a great chance for them to try new sport and keep fit at the same time."
