Trawling through the internet at the weekend, I Google’d ‘Cockfield’, with some surprising results!
First off, I got a ‘Result’ to The Wall Street Journal with a link to the Cockfield Blog.
I couldn’t believe it! It was the story of how the Northern Echo, had spelt my name wrong on a poster in the local paper shop.
Check it out…
2009 World Economic Forum , Davos - News & Photos - Wall St. Journal Read the Cockfield blog – by Nigel Dawson. ... Echo had displayed a big poster in the window announcing: "Read the Cockfield blog – by Nigel Dawson. ... davos.wsj.com/quote/0deXd1Te02akP.
How bizarre!
Why the hell the high powered financiers of Wall Street would want to know about the Cockfield blog is beyond me, but there you are!
Secondly, and at first glance, an even more bizarre link!
Bessie Robinson (A reporter with the Northern Echo) rang me to ask why there was a link to Cockfield club on Norman Wisdom’s website!
“Yea!” I thought it was a wind up too! But there it was, on Sir Norman Wisdom’s official website! I kid you not.
After a bit of digging, it transpires that Mark Kipling, is not only ‘mates’ with Sir Norman, (“Mr. Grimsdale!!”) but he also sorted out his website.
I remember seeing a few photos’ of Mark and Norman Wisdom on Facebook, but just thought he must have ‘bumped’ into him somewhere and asked for a few pic’s and an autograph. How wrong can you be!!
If you haven’t had a look at Mark’s new website for Cockfield club, check it out at www.cockfieldclub.co.uk .
Have YOU seen Cockfield mentioned in an unusual place?
I would love to know.
