I thoroughly enjoyed compering the second annual Bannatyne's Bright Sparks competition in Darlington last night.
It's a kind of junior Dragons' Den and has turned into a fantastic event.
Around 80 pupils from Darlington secondary schools took part, presenting business ideas to the judges - Darlington-based entrepreneurs Duncan Bannatyne and Alan Noble, Professor Caroline MacDonald from Teesside University, and Mike Lakinski, from Business and Enterprise North-East.
They did a remarkable job - displaying superb presenting skills and answering challenging questions from the judges.
I certainly couldn't have done what they did when I was their age.
The winners of the £1,000 first prize were The Education Village team, while Eastbourne C of E Academy won £500 for the best business plan.
I have to say that Duncan Bannatyne was tremendous with the children - taking time afterwards to chat to them, pose for pictures and sign autographs.
There's a story and pictures in tomorrow's paper - 45pence from all good newsagents!
