A WOMAN was taken to hospital after being rescued from a house fire in South Hetton, County Durham, tonight.
Two fire crews from Peterlee and one from Seaham were sent to Ullswater Terrace at 8.10pm.
They used breathing equipment to rescue the woman, who was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital by ambulance.
It is believed fire crews were alerted after a smoke alarm was heard going off.
