POLICE have named the woman who died in the collision on the A689 on Sunday.
Denise Emers, 37, from Norton was the passenger in the Peugeot 406 which left the road, crossed the central reservation and came to rest in a field.
The car was travelling on the A689 east from Sedgefield to Wynyard when the collision happened at around 1.30am.
The family paid tribute to Denise saying: “She was a loving mother who leaves behind three children. We still can’t come to terms with the fact that she has died and we will miss her greatly.” It is asked that the family’s privacy is respected at this difficult time.
No other cars were involved in the accident. A 38 year old male has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
