Cockfield FC has had another cracking season. Under the guidance of manager Andrew Bowman and team sponsor Michael Hallimond, they finishing 3rd in the Wear Valley Sunday League and were runners up in the cup.

Michael unveiled the team’s new strip a couple of weeks ago and as you can see from the photo, he’s done the lads proud.

On Saturday the 11th July, the team are holding their annual presentation night in Cockfield club. Tickets are only £3, and there’s plenty of entertainment on.

Singer, Richie Solo, will perform hits from the seventies, and is supported by Northern Lights disco.

Please see Andrew or Michael for tickets.

This is an ideal opportunity to support not only our local team, but also Cockfield club.

Talking of the club, this coming Saturday, the 8th July, there is a band on called the ‘Northern Boys’. Tickets for this are available from the club at a cost of £3 and there will be bingo during the interval.

The ‘stay of closure’ court appearance is on Tuesday 30th June.

Kevin Clarey will be liaising with Mick Mcglasham from the CIU, and as soon as he has any news I will post it on this site.

I understand that the court appearance is a pre-hearing, as the Inland Revenue are ‘dragging their feet’ on the amount of tax owed, and so, the club should be safe for a few weeks yet.

The members meeting to be held in the club tonight (Monday) has been cancelled.
