A MUSIC festival dubbed the ‘mini Glastonbury’ has moved to a bigger site after eight years to allow more people to attend.
CultureShock is moving from it’s Northallerton base to the Pickering showground so that more events can be added to the line-up.
Attractions include arts based workshops, such as dance, graffiti, film and animation, a skate park, a circus tent and a hip hop zone.
The festival, which takes place between Thursday and Saturday, July 2-4, is aimed at young people and is intended to allow them to attend a festival in a safe drug and alcohol free environment before they venture on to other bigger festivals elsewhere. The line-up on the main stage on Saturday, July 4, includes the top breakbeat DJ duo Stanton Warriors, with the acclaimed Indie dance act Infadels. CultureShock is one of their only UK appearances before they begin a European tour. Little Comets, jazz ensembles HYJO and rising North Yorkshire rock stars such as The Decades, Rise From The Ashes, Eskimo Sandwich, Isotopia and Mike Gatto will also feature.
Tickets cost £6 on the gate, or £5.50 in advance by calling 01609-533495.
