THE role of the modern Royal Navy is to be demonstrated to visitors to a multi-media roadshow coming to North Yorkshire.
Using the latest technology to take the audience inside warships, submarines and aircraft, the Royal Navy Presentation Team (RNPT) will show the wide spectrum of activity that the Navy undertakes.
Commander Ian Pickles, leader of the RNPT, said: "On any day of the year, the Royal Navy and Royal Marines will typically be involved in providing humanitarian aid and disaster relief, fighting terrorists, undertaking peacekeeping operations and anti-drugs patrols and protecting UK citizens at home and abroad.
"The presentation aims to convey what the Navy does on a day-to-day basis and explain how taxpayers’ money is spent and what return the public can expect from its investment."
The demonstration will take place at the Scotch Corner Hotel, on Wednesday, July 15, at 6.30pm.
Anyone who is interested in attending can register at www.royalnavy.mod.uk/rnpt or contact the RNPT office on 020-8833-8020.
