Celebrations in honour of the armed services in North Yorkshire were joined by the Regional Minister for Yorkshire and the Humber this weekend.
Rosie Winterton MP attended the opening parade in celebration of past, present and future members of the Forces, in Scarborough, as part of the first National Armed Forces Day.
She also presented Veterans Badges to former servicemen and women from the area.
The event in Scarborough was the largest planned for the North Yorkshire region and included military displays and several parades.
Ms Winterton said: "On this, the country’s first ever national Armed Forces Day, I would like to pay tribute to the dedication and commitment of our armed forces in Yorkshire and the Humber and to thank our veterans for the service they have given our country.
"I know that the people of Yorkshire and the Humber are proud of all those who have served us so well in defence of their country."
