A MARKET town in North Yorkshire has appointed its own ambassador.
Sarah Lally-Marley has been appointed to the role which is designed help Malton’s economic future.
"My aim is to present Malton at its best and actively help to regenerate and build it into a thriving destination in Ryedale, supporting retailers and residents, and be a welcoming and informative point of contact for visitors to the town," she said.
Her role will be jointly managed by a partnership of Ryedale Voluntary Action, Malton Town Council, the Area Partnership for Malton and Norton, and Ryedale District Council.
Brighton-born Sarah, 33, has lived in Ryedale for 15 years.
She said: "It is both an exciting and challenging position and I am looking forward to working with local businesses and residents to enhance the experience that visitors, locals and the business community have in the town."
A statement from the partnership said: "We are extremely happy to welcome Sarah because we see her role as an important step in the future prosperity of Malton. We look forward to working with her to really make this role a success for Malton."
