YOUNGSTERS are being given the chance to get close to nature after the launch of a new learning initiative.
The Local Nature Reserves Education Pack is designed to get children interested in the wonders that surrounds them.
And pupils from Oxbridge Lane Primary School in Stockton were the first to try out the fun pack.
The pack, focusing on 13 nature reserves in the Stockton area, offers advice and tips on how best to enjoy wildlife and fauna.
Terry Douthwaite, local nature reserve officer at Stockton Council, said: "The children really seemed to enjoy using the pack because it is full of fun activities to help them to get close to nature."
