FIVE young people have been selected to spend six weeks in either Brazil, China or India under an international exchange scheme.
Mengya Du, Daniel Ross and Philip Naylor, from St Leonard’s RC Comprehensive, in Durham City; Luke Havers, from Durham Johnston School, in Durham City’ and Jordan Purvis, from Park View Community School, in Chester-le-Street, are among eight people from the North East.who will visit one of the world’s most important developing economies as Global Fellows of the Prime Minister.
Brian Stobie, Durham County Council’s international relations officer, said: “The Fellows spend two weeks learning about the culture and language of their host country, two weeks as guests of a local school and family and two weeks on placement with a UK company working in that country.
“They will also experience a journey of self discovery and friendship.”
