PRINCEE ANNE will officially open a £1.1m entertainment and sports centre during a visit to the region next week.
The princess will visit the Galtres Centre complex, in Easingwold, North Yorkshire, on July 2.
Organisers hope hundreds of local people will visit the centre, which opened to the public six months ago.
Frank Barugh, chairman of the centre’s management committee, said: "Welcoming Princess Anne is a huge honour for us – a tribute to the hard work put in by a lot of people in the town to create this facility.
"She will be meeting many of the volunteers as well as watching a keep fit class, indoor bowls and badminton. "It promises to be a day to remember for the."
The princess is due to arrive in Easingwold at about 11am next Thursday.
Members of the public are asked to be there by 10.45am.
There will be no parking at the centre that day.
