YOUNGSTERS at a Bedale prep-school have been picked to head off to top schools including one to Eton.
The six Aysgarth School pupils are celebrating the achievement after they passed the entrance exams to the schools.
Toby Tricks was awarded a King’s Scholarship to Eton of which only 14 are admitted each year for a five year spell.
The position dates back to King Henry VI and past members include George Orwell and Harold Macmillan.
Matthew Leiper received a music scholarship for Radley School, near Oxford, James Wright, a music exhibition to Harrow and Harry Alderson, a music exhibition to Uppingham School, in Leicestershire Brookie Trant was awarded an all-rounder scholarship to Ampleforth, and Hugo Dingwall, an art scholarship to Ampleforth, North Yorkshire.
Headmaster Anthony Goddard said: “We are so proud of all our boys and what they have achieved.
“It is great to see that we have received an assortment of awards to a wide collection of different schools.
“This shows the breadth of talent here at the school, whether it be academic, music, art or sport.”
