PEOPLE are being given the chance to air their views on the highways and transport services in North Yorkshire.
A random sample of more than 4,500 residents will be invited to take part in a major nationwide survey designed to ensure advances on transport policy are exploited across the country.
North Yorkshire County Council is one of 77 local authorities to have signed up to a standardised survey that will ask members of the public exactly the same questions wherever they live.
The second annual survey should allow local authorities to compare results, share in best practice and identify opportunities to work together in the future.
The questionnaire is being sent out this month with local and national results expected to be published this summer.
The county’s executive member for business and environmental services, Coun John Fort, said: "The county council took part in last year’s inaugural national survey and is committed to delivering excellent and efficient local highway services.
"Participating in this national survey will help us to further understand and respond to the views of the community about the highways and transportation services we provide."
