IT is all change at the top for one of North Yorkshire’s leading music festivals.
Andrew Lawson-Tancred is stepping down after 14 years as the artistic director of the Northern Aldborough Festival, near Boroughbridge.
And internationally-known opera singer Robert Ogden, from Harrogate, has been appointed to take his place.
He has sung for opera companies in the USA, Norway, Japan, Belgium and the Netherlands.
In 1998 he co-launched the Intermedi Baroque Ensemble which has performed throughout the UK.
He is a former manager of the Ryedale Festival where he is also a regular performer and in 2006 co-launched Landor Records, the independent classical label known for recording some of the emerging stars in classical music.
Mr Lawson-Tancred said: "Robert has recently moved back to Yorkshire and we are very fortunate to have someone with his artistic and organisational skills in the area.
"I am confident that under his direction the festival will further enhance its reputation for attracting both new and existing talent."
