POLICE officers could face disciplinary action after 84 force radios were reported missing by North Yorkshire Police.
The loss of the radios raised severe security concerns and swift action has been taken to disconnect them from police bands by the force.
It is not known if the radios were stolen or if they were taken by officers accidentally and then never returned.
The problem was raised in a police internal audit report and force staff have stated that they knew of the matter in advance.
Some action was taken to resolve the problem prior to the audit and all bar six of the missing radios have since been returned.
