A PRIMARY school is inviting former pupils to return for its 40th anniversary.
Shincliffe CE Primary School, in Shincliffe, near Durham, opened its doors for the first time on July 3, 1969, with Ian Ramsey, then Bishop of Durham, doing the honours.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary, teachers, staff and pupils are planning an open coffee afternoon, during which visitors can take a tour of the school.
This will be held on Friday, July 3, between 2pm and 5pm.
There will also be a display of old photographs and children will be creating some art work.
Past pupils, parents and friends of the school are welcome to attend. Admission is free.
For more information, call the school on 0191-384-3739.
