ONE of Britain's youngest lollipop men is helping children get to school.
At just 19-years-old Shaun Nimmo is barely out of school himself, but he has just started working for Middlesbrough Borough Council.
The teenager, who also works in a charity shop, said: "People keep asking me if I'm just on work experience. They can't understand that I'm the new lollipop man."
According to the Council, he could be the youngest lollipop man in Britain.
A spokesperson said: "You have to be a least 18 years old to work in this job, and Shaun is only 19. He is certainly the youngest lollipop man we've heard of."
He takes up his post helping kids across Middlesbrough's busy Cargo Fleet Lane once he has completed his training.
Road Safety Officer Lynn Hepworth said: "Were delighted to welcome Shaun to the School Crossing Patrol Service as it shows that the role is suitable for all age groups."
