DETECTIVES have renewed an appeal for information about the attempted abduction of a 12-year-old boy, by up to five men, earlier this month.
The incident happened in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, at about 8.25am, on Monday, June 1.
A black BMW pulled up alongside him, in Goosecroft Lane, as he walked to school.
A man got out of the rear passenger door, grabbed the boy by the hand and attempted to pull him into the car.
The boy managed to break free and ran to safety.
The man who grabbed the boy was described as Asian, aged in his mid-30s, of muscular build, about 5ft 10in, with brown eyes, a pointy nose and a "dent" mark under his right eye.
He was wearing a dark suit and a pink tie.
Detective Constable Jason Roper, of Northallerton CID, said police believe the boy was not specifically targeted and was chosen at random by opportunists.
Witnesses are asked to call Det Con Roper on 0845-60-60-24-7, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800-555-111, reference number 12090091934.
