NORTH Yorkshire County Council and its partners are seeking on how they should provide services for carers across the county in the next ten years.
The Government recently published its new Carers’ Strategy for 2008-2018.
In response, the county council and NHS North Yorkshire and York are updating their carers’ strategy.
A working group representing the county council, NHS and Carers’ Resource centres across the county has been working on a draft plan, which was published last week.
Derek Law, director of the county council’s adult and community services, said: "These are our ideas about how to move forward, but we need to hear from the carers, the people they care for, and from all other interested parties, about how our thoughts measure up to what they themselves want to see.
"This strategy is intended to be accessible to all groups and to become another tool to raise the profile of carers and highlight the contribution they make to our communities. "
The strategy is available via the council’s website, at northyorks.gov.uk/carers
