STAFF and helpers from a North Yorkshire primary school are busy putting the finishing touches to their summer fair.
The parent-teacher group Friends of Broomfield School (Fobs), near Northallerton, is preparing for the fair, which will be held on Saturday, June 27.
Staff and parents have spent months organising the fundraiser, which takes place on the school field from 11am-2pm.
Attractions will include henna hand-painting, a crockery smash and a hot air balloon, as well as the more traditional face-painting and tombola.
To help get pupils in the mood, the school held a poster competition earlier this year.
The winning design, produced by Thomas Tretheway, six, from Northallerton, will advertise the event on notice boards in the area.
Thomas was rewarded with a book token and free passes for the fair.
Taylor Grayson, also six, was runner-up, while nine-year-old Elizabeth Dean took the prize for a poster created on a computer.
Fobs chairwoman Pamela Johnson said: "The last two summer fairs raised more than £4,000, which has gone towards some outdoor play equipment, as well as a refit for the school library and a water bottle for every pupil.
Donations of cakes, books, cuddly toys, DVDs, videos, CDs and tombola prizes are welcomed at the school.
