WELLY throwing, scarecrows, and penalty shoot-outs are among the attractions at a three-day carnival in Willington.
The Garlands on the Green event starts tomorrow on the town green, with an inter-school football tournament involving four primary schools from the area.
Fun runners of all ages are invited to take part in races on Saturday afternoon, and a "welly hoying" competition takes place on Sunday, where people compete to throw wellies the furthest distance.
The contest was introduced last year, and proved popular with participants and spectators.
Reigning champions Parkys - a team from Parkside School, Willington - will be competing to defend their title.
Other attractions throughout the three days include a scarecrow competition, fairground rides, penalty shoot outs, stalls, a toddler walk, and face painting.
Entertainment runs from 5pm to 9pm tomorrow, 10am to 4.30pm on Saturday, and 12.30pm to 3pm on Sunday.
The Willington Community Partnership organised the event with support from Greater Willington Town Council.
