A POLICE constable has denied causing death by careless driving.
PC Thomas David Hart, of Trevarren Drive, Sunderland, pleaded not guilty when he appeared at Teesside Crown Court today.
A Cleveland Police van collided with a Peugeot 206 while responding to an emergency call on the A1032 Tees Bridge road, in Middlesbrough, on October 18, last year.
Aimee Walsh, a 25-year-old passenger in the car, suffered multiple injuries and died in hospital a month later.
Mr Hart, 27, who is based at Stockton police station, was bailed by Judge Michael Taylor.
The trial date is yet to be set but is expected to take four days.
