A MOTOR show is being organised by a car enthusiast whose brother was killed by a drink-driver at the end of a charity bike ride.
John Toner, 39, died instantly in the collision on the A167 two years ago.
The accident happened on June 16 at Hutton Bonville, between Darlington and Northallerton, as he was ten minutes from the end of the Boundary 500 Motorcycle ride.
Mr Toner, a father of two, from Eston, was raising money for his favourite charity, the Great North Air Ambulance (GNAA) when tragedy struck.
His brother, Colin, decided to continue fundraising and through his contacts has organised several motorshows for the GNAA. His next event is on July 18 and 19 when he aims to fill the field at the Dormans Club, in Middlesbrough, with more than 1,000 classic cars and motorbikes.
“We have already organised marquees, as some of the cars are oneoffs and can’t go outside.
The shows attract people from all over the country because some of the exhibits are so rare.”
