A DISABLED man is to swim with dolphins after his mother won a £1,000 competition.
Tony Kew, 19, from Tanfield Lea, Stanley, County Durham, will enter the waters of the Florida Keys later this year.
He is a sufferer of Wolf- Hirschhorn syndrome, which has left him profoundly disabled, but he responds well to hydrotherapy.
His mother, Maureen, was first to get through on the phone when Metro Radio played Katy Perry’s I Kissed A Girl as part of its £1,000 a song competition. She said: “I cannot wait to see the smile on his face as he adores being in the water. It is like a dream come true.”
Tony will also be joined by his father, John, and 16- year-old brother, Martin, on a family holiday in the Sunshine State.
