The Headline Game is played between The Northern Echo and TFM radio on air every morning at around 8.15.
I have always argued that it is not only entertainment but educational - and now I have confirmation.
A teacher has told me how he has been using the Headline Game as a teaching aid in English lessons. The pupils are given the stories and they have to come up with their own headlines before the real headlines are revealed.
What a great idea! I can see it developing into a core element of the national curriculum.
This morning's game was about a dog in Germany which was playing fetch and came back to its owner with a World War Two hand grenade.
I was 2-0 down on the week but pegged it back to 2-1 with the excellent "Hound grenade".
I also offered the German alternative "Hund grenade" because "Hund" is German for "dog".
There you go again - it's an education.
