SPRIGHTLY Nora Corbett is celebrating her 101 birthday today. Born in 1908, Nora is a widowed Methodist and has never smoked. Recently a patient at Eastbourne Nursing Home in Darlington, she is now living in her own home.
Nora has made many new friends from Eastbourne, both staff and patients and she vows to stay in touch with them all.
Surprisingly she is not expecting a birthday card from the Queen. She has to wait until she is 105 before she gets another message from Her Majesty!
She said: “I enjoy every minute of my life… I have worked, had a family and my granddaughter is beautiful. They all came up from London to see me because of my birthday and we have had a lovely time together. ”
Nora was presented with a lovely bouquet of flowers from her carers at Eastbourne. She took it on herself to share some delicious chocolate cup cakes with staff and friends on Sunday. Here is to wishing you many happy returns and all the best for the future Nora.
