Local Ferryhill butcher, John Alison, once again won a gold and silver award for his produce.
The butcher was awarded 1st prize for his pork, stilton and asparagus sausages and 2nd prize for his pork, honey and mustard sausages by the ‘Northern Council of Butchers Association’.
There were 37 butchers from around the region who entered the competition. John has been entering the annual event since the early 80’s and has won many prizes over the years. He has been trading in Ferryhill since 1970 and next year he will celebrate his 40th year in business.
In a statement John said, “Our success is due to using local produce from local Durham farms. We are constantly trying new flavours and ingredients to produce quality products for local people”.
