A CLUB that is celebrating its 30th birthday is inviting new members to join them for talks, trips and social events.
Spennymoor Probus Club holds monthly meetings at Tudhoe Cricket Club, St Charles Road, Spennymoor.
Probus is short for professional and business and is aimed at retired people but membership is open to all.
On the second Tuesday of the month, except August, members meet at 10am and chat for half an hour before a guest speaker delivers a presentation and answers questions on their chosen topic until around 11.45am.
The group has three fixed events each year- an annual general meeting followed by lunch in April, a coffee morning in November and Christmas lunch in December.
Members also visit places of interest to the group.
The next meeting is Tuesday June 9 when Jules Burnett will give a talk entitled red kites in the Derwent Valley.
Anyone interested can attend a meeting or call 01388-811780 or 608417 for details.
