YOUNGSTERS at a Teesside dance school are benefiting from new music equipment, thanks to a bakery.
Warburtons Bakery, in Stockton, donated £500 to the Johnson School of Dance, in Middlesbrough.
The new sound system will replace the school’s outdated equipment to help the dancers aged between two and 22-years-old prepare for competitions.
Andrea Simpson, principal at Johnson School of Dance, said: "Currently we receive very little financial support, the children’s parents do try to raise funds through bingo nights during the year to help out with our events, but we often struggle to raise the cash needed to pay for new equipment and trips.
"We enter a lot of regional competitions, annual dance shows and host dance exams at the school.
I’d like to thank Warburtons on behalf of all the students for their generous support. Who knows, we could see the next Darcey Bussell at The Johnson School of Dance in the near future."
Tony Whitehead, based at Warburtons Bakery, in Stockton, said: "We are always keen to support activities and clubs in the local community and the dancers here are a really talented bunch.
"We jumped at the chance to help out when Andrea got in touch."
