A SCHEME targeting anti-social behaviour and untaxed vehicles is being carried out this week.
Operation Cleansweep is in the Grange Ward, in Hartlepool, in a bid to improve the area for residents.
Work will include street lighting repairs, a clampdown on untaxed vehicles and an increase in anti-social behaviour patrols.
Officers from a number of agencies will be out and about in Cundall Road, Duke Street, Topcliffe Street, Brafferton Street, Zetland Road, Stephen Street and Suggitt Street as part of the intensive improvement programme.
Residents can also get involved by visiting Hartlepool Supporters Club, in Sandringham Road, from 4pm to 6pm tomorrow.
Andrew Hughes, from the Safer Hartlepool Partnership, said: "This area was identified by our analysts as a place which could benefit from an intensive programme like Operation Cleansweep.
"Once again, we have great support from local agencies, including the borough council’s local neighbourhood managers, neighbourhood co-ordinators, and development officers who are mucking-in and showing their dedication to the project.
"I would urge local residents to get involved and attend the drop-in event for some crime prevention and environmental advice."
