THE PUBLIC will be able to have their say on a controversial plan to build a wind farm on the outskirts of a Teesdale village.
Npower Renewables is looking into the possibility of building a wind farm of up to six 100-metre tall turbines at Stobhill, near Bolam.
The power company, which has been working with energy consultants TNEI, will hold a public exhibition to show their plans and allow people to comment on the proposals.
The plans will be in the Memorial Hall in West Auckland on Friday, June 26 from 3-7pm and on Saturday, June 27 from 10am-4pm.
Nigel Moore, project manager at TNEI, said: "The public exhibition is open to everyone. It is your opportunity to find out more about the wind farm and ask questions. Staff from RWE Npower Renewables and TNEI will be on hand to explain the wind farm proposal.
"Youll also be invited to leave written feedback on the project, which we will take into account as the wind farm progresses.
"We are proposing a wind farm of up to six wind turbines. A wind farm of this size could provide enough electricity to meet the average annual needs of between 4,800 and 7,300 homes - which is more than all the homes in the parish of Shildon."
