A FOUR-YEAR-OLD boy is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a van.
The collision - involving a white Mercedes Sprinter van - happened on Ryefield Road in Eastfield, Scarborough, at about 5pm on Saturday, June 6.
He suffered serious head and chest injuries and was taken to Scarborough Hospital by ambulance, before being transferred to Leeds General Infirmary where his condition was described as "serious but stable".
Following treatment overnight, the boy's condition is now "stable".
Police investigating the collision are still appealing for any witnesses to contact Traffic Constable 851 Mark Gonella or Traffic Constable 1297 Chris Dundon on 0845 60 60 247 quoting reference number 12090095442.
