WRITER Lorraine Clissold is to reveal the secrets of Chinese food when she gives a library talk later this month.
The North Yorkshire-based author will be at the Clayport Library, Millennium Place, Claypath, Durham, to talk about her book called Why the Chinese Don’t Count Calories.
In it she reveals some of the secrets and explains why the Chinese can eat as much as they want without worrying about their weight.
Lorraine lived in Beijing for ten years from 1995 where she was a TV presenter and writer and established a Chinese cooking school.
Her book is illustrated with examples and recipes that use both Chinese and Western ingredients.
She will be at the library between 2 and 3pm on Friday June 19 as part of its Mind Your Body celebration which also includes book displays on physical, emotional and mental health.
Admission is free and signed copies of the book will be on sale.
The library will host a second author event on Tuesday June 30 between 3 and 4pm when Mark Turnbull will talk about his book Decision Most Deadly.
