A TEAM of health and social care staff who work with people affected by drug misuse are raising awareness of their services.
The Hambleton and Richmondshire Substance Misuse Service (HARSMS) is a team of specialist doctors, nurses, a social worker and a drugs support worker who help drug users and alcoholics through treatment.
They also work with the families, carers and friends of those affected by substance misuse.
The team, which is based in Northallerton, includes workers from NHS North Yorkshire and York Community and Mental Health Services and North Yorkshire County Council.
It is holding a week-long road show at the Friarage Hospital so that members of the public can find out more about the services it offers across the Hambleton and Richmondshire districts.
The event is part of national Tackling Drugs Week, which runs from June 8 to 12.
Wendy Pedley, clinical team leader of HARSMS, said: "National Tackling Drugs Week is a great opportunity for people to come and talk to us to get an insight about our services.
"We also hope to raise awareness and potentially reach out to people whose lives might be affected by substance misuse."
