CARERS looking after people with cancer are invited to a number of information events in east Durham area later this month.
Information and support will be available each day at the Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre, 20 Upper Chare, Castle Dene Shopping Centre, Peterlee, from 9.30am to 4.30pm from Monday to Friday.
Carers are invited to drop in anytime during the week for coffee and cake, and will receive a free goody bag.
A Macmillan Welfare Rights Advisor will be on hand to answer your queries on welfare and disability and carer benefits, from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Wednesday and Friday.
The events have been arranged by Public Health County Durham and Darlington and Macmillan Cancer Support Service, in conjunction with Easington District Carers.
The events aim to provide information and support to cancer carers, develop ongoing support group for carers, provide an opportunity to meet other carers and share experiences and to discover what information and support carers feel they need and how it can be provided.
