Residents have met with police to discuss crime priorities in their area.
The Gaunless Valley and East Teesdale Police and Communities Together (Pact) meeting took place at Gainford Village Hall on Monday (June 1).
Three main priorities were drawn up by residents and officers.
Police promised to manage potential unlawful traveller encampments in Staindrop during the run up and aftermath to the Appleby Horse Fair.
Officers will also monitor the cross roads at Winston to minimise potential problems during the traveller period.
They will also tackle the issue of speeding motorists on the A67 in Gainford.
The next meeting will be at Butterknowle Village Hall, at 8.15pm on Wednesday, July 8.
