PEOPLE in Middlesbrough can find out how to reduce their carbon footprint at a special event tomorrow.

The event will take place at Breckon Hill Community Centre, on Breckon Hill Road, Middlesbrough, between 10am and 2pm, to celebrate World Environment Day.

Middlesbrough Council and Middlesbrough Environment City have joined forces to present the project that will focus on the necessity for everyone to adapt to climate change.

It will also offer practical advice on how people can do their bit to protect our environment.

Businesses and organisations from across the town who have taken part in the Climate Change Aware project run by Middlesbrough Environment City, will be showcasing the progress they have made in becoming more environmentally responsible organisations.

Mexico is the host country for World Environment Day this year. To celebrate this, a taster buffet of Mexican food will be prepared to accompany the Fairtrade refreshments that will be available to try.

There will also be a chance to make a Mexican bracelet from recycled materials and learn how to grow some Mexican plants.

Admission is free. For more information contact Shabana Sharif, at Middlesbrough Environment City, on 01642-811300.
